Kigamboni

The Kigamboni area is part of the city of Dar es Salaam, which has been separated from the rest of the city by the Kurasini Creek.

Apart from the capability to accommodate population of about 1/2 Million inhabitants without overcrowding, Kigamboni offers particularly attractive hotel sites on unspoilt stretches of the coastline close to the city centre. Accessibility to Kigamboni from the centre of Dar es Salaam by pedestrian and vehicular traffic is restricted to ferry operations or about 56 Kilometers ring road through Kilwa Road, branching off at Mji Mwema. The Present Level of accessibility is a constraint to the development of the city of Dar es Salaam, particularly on the Kigamboni side.
